My thoughts and sketches
I carry a small sketchbook with me most of the time.
When I see someone that attracts my attention and has the potential to become my next subject I feel compelled to do a small sketch before I forget what I have seen.
Occasionally I do this immediately while I am in the street, or wherever, but more usually head for the nearest coffee shop and put pen to paper.
I draw very quickly how I see the finished sculpture looking together with a few written notes as an " aide memoire ".
It's a freezing cold January morning and I see the postman complete with regulation uniform, wooly hat, thick red anorak, wooly socks, heavy boots and shorts?!!! I must do him !
Or, I'm sitting in my car stuck in the road works watching a construction worker casually kicking traffic cones down the road. There are subjects everywhere. This one will be " Traffic Management ".
Quick put it in my sketch book before the lights change.

Some of my figures are a complete figment of my imagination like " No Tools left in Van overnight ". What happens to them ?. Where are they ?.
A few works are autobiographical. Do you remember your first day at a new school wearing a uniform that's miles too big or a fight in the playground ?.
Interestingly and amusingly, sometimes It's how others see me. When out on a run early one morning as I passed a little girl I heard her say " Is that man a jogger Mummy ? ".

I'll keep on looking at the world around me.
